Becoming Gym Rats

For the last couple of months, Mr Hubby has suddenly transformed himself into a fitness fanatic. He would hit the gym or the pool almost every evening. And he seems to have become quite narcissistic too. I watched as he sucks in his tummy and admires his own reflection in the mirror.

Hmmm.... So I had to ask him, "Why are you suddenly so into working out?"

"Because I want to attract younger and prettier women." came his reply.

Gosh!! So, is my marriage heading for trouble??!! Should I be depressed??

Guess what, instead of letting insecurity slowly murdering me and our marriage; I have decided to become Mr Hubby's fitness partner.

Few days back, we were chilling out by the pool after our gym session, Mr Hubby let me in to the real reason for starting to get active. He said he was mortified by the fact that many people around him (including myself) were struck by diseases and he didn't want to lead a sedentary lifestyle, wanting for diseases to manifest anymore. And he also wanted to be a role model for our children, encouraging them to grow up healthy and active.

OK. So my marriage is not doom after all. Perhaps, I should keep away my track shoes and go back to my ice-creams and telly. NOT.

The above picture was taken by Mr Hubby on my first day of fitness partnership, which he posted to his FB page with comment "New workout partner, hope she is not making guest appearance only..."

It has been 4 days, and I must admit, I am feeling GREAT!

My Son

We didn't plan to have him. I was quite certain that I only wanted one child after my daughter, Laetitia, was born. I remembered myself crying when I realised I was pregnant again.

It was totally unexpected, I had loads of apprehension... but in the end, I was filled with immense amount of joy when he arrived safely into our world some nineteen months ago.

Ever since then, he is like an angel who brought us smiles and filled our lives with so much more than we had been prepared for.

Tonight, I looked at him sleeping soundly beside me and wonder what my life would be without him.

My son, you have no idea how thankful I am to have you. Sleep tight, please don't wake me up again tonight.. and I love you!

Unforgetable Phuket

I had this Phuket trip planned as early as May, then many unfortunate things cropped up along the way. My mom had to have surgery to have her breast removed, I had my fair share of surgery recently too. But we were persistent and carried on with our plan to have this short but beautiful getaway.

I shall just let the pictures do the talking...

We were staying in this huge 2-bedroom pool villa at Marriott Vacation Club, Mai Khao beach.

The kids wasted no time to hit the pool.

My mom couldn't swim but she had a good time chilling by the pool.

Day 2 - We took the hotel buggy and headed for Mai Khao beach. It was refreshing to see a deserted beach in Phuket, a stark contrast to Phuket's other beach like Patong.

Because we were staying in Mai Khao, which was like miles away from the town area, we rented a car with GPS. It was a real good idea because the taxi here is practically day-light robbery!

We were heading to this place called Laem Hin Seafood for dinner. It's a floating restaurant with very nice view but lots of mosquitoes!

Day 3 - We drove the long winding road to Kata Viewpoint where we could see Kata beach and Karon beach.

Then we stopped by an elephant camp where we took a 30-minutes elephant rides into the woods which was a big hit with my two kids. They absolutely love it.

Day 4 - We checked out of Marriott Vacation Club and checked into JW Mariott nearby for a few hours because our flight was in the evening and the check-out time for MVC was 10 in the morning.

Then the kids and their Daddy went swimming again.

With this last picture of Leonitus, all wrapped up, our trip was also coming to an end. It was my first time in 35 years, travelling with my mom - it was unforgettable.

More pictures of the trip here.
