PPP Laser - Why you shouldn't go to them

I naturally have some light freckles, but after two pregnancies, those spots just grew and got a lot darker. I had my first laser done about three years back using MedLite at a local aesthetic clinic. After the third sessions (5 sessions in my package), my spots were virtually vanquished. The result was unexpectedly good, despite the slight discomfort during the process, which was tolerable for me.

After my last laser treatment two and half years ago, my skin remains relatively good except the freckles seem to be creeping back, probably because I go under the sun more often now (chasing after my kids).

Friends told me about a promotion at PPP Laser Clinic, where I only need to pay a fraction of the price I did with MedLite, to receive 25 times of laser treatments. I jumped at the chance, I thought I had discovered a GREAT buy. PPP Laser claims that it works for Pores, Pigmentations and Pimples. I had two out of the three concerns I want to see improvement for, I was really excited.

Twelve times of laser treatments later, the only difference I notice is my facial hairs - they are absolutely bleached; the spots and pores are, unfortunately, still here. Although a few people had commented that my skin looks more radiant, that might well be the work of the new SK-II LXP Perfecting Series that I had recently started using, instead of the benefit of the laser.

What leaves me flabbergasted is the service and their system, or should I say lack of it. When I just signed up for the package, I was told I could call and make appointment, so I did. Even with appointments, at times, I had to wait a freaking 30-mins before I was being attended to. Then low and behold, they changed it to NO APPOINTMENT, only walk-in. When you walk-in, there could be 20 or more people ahead of you and you might have to wait for over 2 hours, at the more popular outlets. All that waiting for just for a 2-mins laser treatment, I think it's insane! And that's not the worst, the treatment time also shrunk, instead of 2-mins, it is probably now, nothing more than a minute! I guess the doctors just can't wait to get us out of the clinic to ease the crowd.

And it's not just one outlet of PPP Laser Clinic that is disappointing, I have visited 4 different outlets and every outlet is the same; long waiting time, hasten laser process and insignificant results.

Whenever I mentioned about not seeing much improvement, the doctors would advise me to have patience and wait, or come for the treatment more often. And when I grumble about the long waiting time, the nurses would tell me, "Wait. Take a seat first."

I think PPP Laser should change its name to WWW Laser, because all I ever do is wait, wait and more wait!

I want to advise people not to sign up with PPP. If you have done so like me, then you will be frustrated just like me! I paid for 3 trial sessions for $50 but there is no way I can even get treated without having to wait a few hours. The clinic nearest my home which is Marine Parade has only 1 Dr most of the time but the queue is over 100 numbers given whether a.m. session or p.m. Its so ridiculous and all because they don't want to accept appointments and so there is a continuous crowd the whole day. It's worse than waiting in the hospital. The staff advised me to try other outlets and so I called and the situation is the same. They said the Liang Court outlet is quieter but I can't be running to such an inconvenient place just to complete my 3 sessions. Anyway, I'll just bear with it, finish the sessions and I definitely won't step into their clinics again. After all there are plenty of good clinics with better service, effective treatment, reasonable prices, better system and shorter waiting time!

Hi, definitely true! The place sucks for services. They just want to make money and no promises! If they do not have enough doctors and cannot handle the load , then stop all the aggressive SMS promotions getting people to sign up for more sessions! I will not recommend anyone to go there too!

I seriously warn everyone not to listen to what they promote. They just greedy for money and do not deliver what they promised !!!

When I first signed up together with my gf they promised they will do my face and back. I did not have much problem on my face but my back is the area I wanted to treat for acne scars.

After several treatment I stopped going but I left with 18x treatments. I paid $1000 with outstanding amount of $920 at that time. Out of a blue moon, they called up and asked me to fixed up my remaining payment with conditions to extend expired date to another 4 months and I will continue the treatment on my back that we both agreed upon. After I paid everything, here comes the story, every time when I made appointment and go there, they will refuse to do on my back because they said it is subject to doctors' approval. The doctors has been changing all the time which every time when I am there I have to go through the drama to fight for a treatment on my back.
I am very disappointed with them and I asked for a refund or continue doing at back at another outlet. They said if I want to do it I have to go ARC outlet or PPP outlet on a specific day. I feel I am being conned in this whole episode. They just want money and after i paid they don't care anymore. Can anyone advise me what best I can do?

Im so glad you wrote this post. I thought I was the only frustrated customer around!

I too feel cheated by the service that I bought previously.. It feels like going stepping into a polyclinic now that I have to get a queue no. and wait for my turn, clean my own face and the usual cleaning session is cut down by a mere 1 round which usually was 2. The reason given to me by a jaded doctor was "protocol". What happened to "care for our skin" philosophy?

Like you mentioned, the waiting time itself is 100 times longer than the less than 1 min PPP procedure. Makes me boiling mad that they have so many excuses to give. The nurse told me we have to clean our own face because we know our own face better -.-" and that response is better after they have implemented the walk in system. Crap! Makes me feel disgusted with the excuses they were trained to use on us customers. Im done with PPP after the package is used up.

The customer service staff have serious attitude problems. I don't mind the wait if I was treated with due respect. The ladies are rude and unprofessional, I wouldn't say all are bad but majority are like that. Recently I went to the Liang Court outlet and my goodness they are worst than anything I have met. I wonder how long can the clinic stays if they are not looking into customers' feedback.

Weekdays working. After office hour no queue number. Weekends i go also no queue number. They told me that my package will expire in June. What shall i do?

As an old customer who has been with them since the start when they only had one PPP clinic branch open at Liang Court, I'm very disappointed by the drastic changes to the treatments and the flow of the new system.
When I first begun, we could make appointments and the treatment always felt personalised. I have recommended the clinic to so many people, even taking my boyfriend along with me for sessions I was happy to pay for.
Sadly, with their aggressive expansion, PPP's management seems to have forgotten the basis of their laser facials-to be fast and yet effective. Their new system of operations was touted to be more efficient and easy, and yet, with this ridiculous new "walk-in only" concept as well as the self-cleaning directives, I now feel like my expensive facial package is a sham. Especially when I have to wait upwards of 1 hour most days for a facial that is just a mere 3-minutes long. This has happened to me numerous times over the last 3 months, at ALL LOCATIONS i have been to. My longest wait has in fact been past 4 hours, at the lucky plaza outlet. So much for efficient and good.

With the large number of patients due in part to their aggressive promotions, the situation has only gotten worse.

I did not pay close to 4000 dollars just to wait for an hour each time, or worse, be told that there are no queue numbers left.

Wish i could make a complaint to CASE...i hope someone from PPP'S management sees this and reflects upon how their unsatisfactory business model will cost them loyal clients like me who do not have the luxury of time to wait an average 2 hours for a facial but yet do not wish to spend the cost of 5 points (about 350 dollars at least) on a mere 3 minute facial.

Anonymous said...

Hi I m also one of the fraustrated ones who still have about almost four thousand dollars worth of frustrations to live with!! Any chance that we could go to CASE to lodge a complaint agains them or as a group of frustrated customers to engage the help of a lawyer to seek the refund of the monies paid and which may never get a chance to use them due to their over-loaded schedules. Through the lawyer, we could seek a refund of the balance sum, failing which we could go to the Straits Times or the New Paper. Those of us who had initially signed on committed to the $50 per session and had then at least 10 mins of treatment... And it has now dwindled down to only seconds of "treatment" after having to wait in queue for hours. I understand from one of the doctors that greed has gotten better of the Management (fiunder, Dr Goh and his daughter) that their consent is to get the numbers and heck care the treatment. I also understand from the doctor and their staff that they are also equally unhappy at work cos they are made to work non stop..not having time even for lunch or pee break!

I just went for a trial session (3 for $60). The doctor was Dr Kenneth Theam. He seems quite pro in explaining the effects of the lasers and how they work. I did not have to wait very long though, there were like 10Q ahead of me, within 30mins it was my turn. However the laser procedure was only a mere 1minute or so. After reading so many comments, I realized that it must have longer session in the past, but due to the demand, the cut short of the customer service and the duration of the laser treatment.

The cheapest package is like $3k+, working backwards, each session is about $40 (for non peak hours). Anyone here wants to sell their remaining package?

I agree that it is a forever waiting game just to get a laser treatment in PPP. The results are insignificant. I had a 24 times package and so far left with 4 more to go. Even with this 4 more left, it was so difficult to finish using them because waiting time could be an hour. I'm not going to sign a 2nd package at all. Simply not worth it with the minute results - or the no results...

Anonymous said...

The PPP keep on changing their rule. Today was shock that they said that if your treatment will be 2 points if the doctor treated you 5pm or later even u got your tickets before 5pm. Previously the process was if you got your tickets before 5pm, you will only charged 1 point. The nurse said it's the management decision, you can feedback if you want.... I do agreed that the service staff are very rude and unprofessional. Hope some authority can take action against such management who keep on changing process. Cheater ?
Customer sign on package because of what they had offer. Now happily change their system.. is it fair?

For those who thinking to sign package with them better think again. I would not recommend my friends to sign for such bad services!

I understand from a doctor that his patient had written in to PPP to demand refund of her remain package. If they failed to comply, she would sue them on the basis of no appointment, long waiting time, sometimes turned away by nurses due to cut off queue number time etc.. in the end, she has gotten the refund. Was told the case of getting it refunded is higher if letter is done with collating with few patients.

Are you interested? I sure am.. pm me angewong2308@gmail.com if you are.

I heard from a reliable source that they will soon be changing their operating hours... currently close at 8pm on weekdays.. will closed at 5pm!!!

Reason being they don't want to pay OT to nurses.

Can you imagine what's going to happen when that happen? Most of us won't be able to finish our package b4 expiry n get our balance points confiscated, plus, not able to get our face treated most of the times.

When I heard of this impending changes, I was irate!

This PPP clinics just want us to sign up package with them. No customers services provided. The staffs and management just greedy of money only. Most of the staffs are very rude and unprofessional.

One of the weekend I went to Marine Parade for treatment for 3 times, I over heard one of the part time staff telling to her partner who was on duty with her commented that all this regular customer came in for a few times a day waste times to serve them. We don't have to chance to sell our package.

I think all staffs need to go for Customer Services training.

Customer Services before they can

I have to express my concern about PPP. I am so disappointed with the unprofessional practise of Dr Ong. He is in Hanoi PPP today. The staff of PPP ask me to see him and consult my problem. I have done for nearly 30 times and the result is very slow. In asking Dr Ong, he said my condition need to do at least 100 time!! I told him cant he give some confirmation of the problem can be treated or not, but he said he cannot guarantee. In turn he told the staff and Dr on duty, if the client need guarantee then they do not need to sign up more package. If the Dr do more then 30 sec in each treatment, he will SACK the Dr and said to the Dr right in front of my face, no need to let the client continue to do treatment if they want result!! He even do personal attack saying that if I want to do longer then 30 sec I can open my own PPP clinic and hire the Dr that he deem not fit to work there and then do it for me!! He even said the machine is availabe in VN if I want to do this biz by my own. What an unprofessional person is he. I am so surprise how can he be so popular with his attidue and rude behaviour with his own client.
I have done 30 times, and he said that he cant give any assurance on my problem. This treatment is not truly useful and he just want to finish the package asap, asking the client to come back every one hour so that he can do more times to faster finish the course. Each treatment if not signing a course will cost USD500! and this Dr Ong is not professional with rude attitude with client. I really urge all of you to consider this treatment and also the unresponsible behaviour of Dr Ong who speak to his Dr not to allow customer to sign anymore if they want result!! I am disappointed!

I will not recommend people to sign up PPP for the following reasons:-
1. The doctors are unprofessional. They like to gossip with the nurses while treating my face. My face did not receive the attention that i deserved.
2. The laser treatment is obviously shorter as compare to previously. Now it's only approx. 1 min per treatment.
3. The staff and nurses are rude and unprofessional. Especially i don't like the way the nurses apply/remove the cream for me... it so sloppy and so unwillingly. The gel often goes into my mouth...
4. The treatment is not that effective after all.
So my experience tells me, don't waste time and money sign up another package with PPP.

Anonymous said...

Yes, customers services really suck, all the staffs are rude & unprofessional. Like today, I request for the doctor I prefer, one of the staffs just tell me off that I can't choose. The staffs & management of PPP just want to make money only, cutting laser time now to 1 min, setting unreasonable systems & rules. don't think going to sign new package anymore.

I am one of the holders of the blue cards (5sessions per card). This is before the point system. When we purchase the cards they told us that the card is only activated upon registration and there is a one year period to use the cards. Today i received an sms that said due to a change is IT system all outstanding cards must be activated by 31 July 2013. Now i have 9 cards totalling 45 sessions. So my logical question to them is what if i dont use the 45 sessions within 1 year? Their reply is oh we can extend but on a case by case basis. Somi asked, can you give me an undertaking in writing, and they said no. So do you think i should activate my cards? I didnt know that rules can be changed at random

Anonymous said...

And by the way, not only you have to clean your own face, you will also have to apply the cream yourself after treatment

Anonymous said...

I am also one of the holders of the blue cards. I was very angry when I received the sms yesterday. I think they are unethical in doing business. when I purchased that time, I was told there will be no expiry date to the card as long as I do not activate it. Now they asked me to activate all my cards by end of Jul 2013. Who knows whether they might change the rule again later to force people to finish all the sessions within a couple of months?!

Agreed totally to the above comments. DO NOT sign up with PPP. For patients with acne issues, never believe their words that the treatment can resolve them. After 10 sessions, there were NO improvement so they insisted that I would need micro laser. I made a complaint at the HQ on why the doctor persuaded me go buy a package when such PPP is unable to treat acne problems. HQ gave 101 reasons and refused to refund.. You can spent all your time complaining to the staff; nurses; doctors; HQ/ - they wouldn't give a damn.

The queue and self-cleansing with the cheap wet tissue are most humiliating.

Liang court service is the worse- do not go there. Dr Vincent is a big no no. Yes, the doctors and nurses are forever bitching about their HQ , customers and working hours. It was really unprofessional.

PPP treatments are a big waste of my time and money.

Anonymous said...

PPP service is really sucks...even by doing Micro laser which they highly recommended how good and how good it suppose to be..but the problem is their service is really really sucks not worth paying at all.

I got white spots after doing 10 over times; yet the doctor said this is common because they have to clear the spots first, but eventually the white spots will gradually even up by doing MORE laser. This was not warned when I signed up...

PPP keep changing their system and making people super confuse and annoyed... hate it and regret in signing up...

I signed up for the package because initially I was very happy with the treatment and services provided during the trial treatment, especially the one provided by the then Dr Kenneth Thean. As I live and work around PPP Lucky Plaza, it was also because of the convenient location of the clinic that I signed up for the treatments. I even referred my sister to PPP who eventually signed up for the same package as mine at the same time, and subsequently, I referred other friends and colleagues to PPP as well.
However, after the trial treatment, subsequent services seemed to have deteriorated. Firstly, my preferred doctor, Dr Kenneth Thean was seldom available at the clinic and the service and duration of treatment provided by other doctors was inconsistent (with instances of some treatments lasting less than half a minute). Secondly was the long queue and waiting time for my turn, and lastly the service/response of some staff at the clinic.
I have for so many times turned up at the clinic at PPP Lucky Plaza for my treatments (on weekdays and weekends and on peak and ‘non-peak’ periods) only to be put off by the persistently long queue and waiting time. The staff at the clinic also kept asking me to go to other branches for my treatment.
They keep pushing me to go to other branches. Ultimately, by not improving the situation at the Lucky Plaza clinic, they are forcing me to go to other PPP branches not of our choice.
Anyhow, yesterday evening around 6.30 pm I went to the Lucky Plaza branch to try my luck. Not only was I asked to go to another branch again, I was told that my package had expired and I am not able to utilize the balance of 8 treatments remaining in my package! I was also asked to sign up for a new package!

Anonymous said...

If you read this- DO NOT sign up any packages with PPP!
Oh my, they changed their policies AGAIN. I had no choice but screamed at the staff! I kept receiving this SMS reminding us to activate our cards by 31July otherwise it cannot be used. I brought most of cards 2 weeks ago and I was told that they are valid for a year upon 1st usage of each card, thus I shouldn't be worried about the validity. I had one more card that I left at home so I brought it down today. I was shocked that they said that the validity of the card is 1 year from the day it is activated and I do not need to activate the card before 31 July!!!????? They even said that those cards that I have activated 2 weeks ago will now be valid only for 1 year from that day.

This is not the first time. From the first day that I purchased their package in June 2012, they kept changing policies and rules. The worse thing was the queue system and self-cleansing & self-application which are totally insulting for the price we pay for 1 minute of laser light ( bear in mind that it is not laser) treatment. When it first started, we were able to make appointment, the staff would clean our face and apply moisturizer & sun block for all clients. As their customer base got bigger, they changed to a budget system but there was no refund on the price that we paid for these premium sessions. I wonder what else they are gonna change in the future. You can sign on at your own risk. I'm trying to finish my sessions ASAP so that I wouldn't see and hear from them again.

FYI- I have pimple problems but this treatment doesn't not dry or prevent breakout as they claim. The only thing i see is that my face seems brighter, that's all. Pimple, pores remain unchanged after more than 1 year of treatment. Of course, they would tell you that you need micro laser treatment at the HQ.. And you fork out another $3000+ there without knowing if your investment is worth the time and effort.

PPP Laser Clinic is the worst experience I have had for the longest time. It is a curse whenever I visit them.

I signed up when they were newly open and introduced many friends. After I signed up another package late last year, the customer service level dived faster than a bunjee jumping. It is always an angry moment whenever I go for a "1 mins facial". Everytime, a surprise awaits me. First, they no longer clean your face, and you are expected to clean yourself. Then no appointment accepted, only walkin and queue. Now, no more applying sunblock for you, please apply yourself. There was once, I took a queue that required a 1hr and 45 mins wait but somehow something caught up within 30 mins of wait and I need to go, I was told the session will be forfeited as the point is already deducted by the IT system when queue number is issued. WTF.... Really? You mean I have my paid service taken away from me just because I could not wait for my turn??? It is a bloody $60 value and plus my time and transport there.. They are constantly thinking a method to bite your hand that has been feeding them.

When I received their promotion that the new package will not need to queue, I was boiling hot. Why must I be subjected to the queue when there were no queue system during my signing? I have defintely paid for a more expensive package and they have the cheek to subject you to a lesser deal as If you owe them. Is like paying for a Set menu and then give you an ala cart just because they feel that it is a waste of their time to clean your face, take your call, put moistures. Then please refund me the money..... It is an unprofessional, unethical and ridiculous place.

New packages doesn't need to queue???!!! What's wrong with them!!!????? When I signed up, I was told that it will be on appointment basis due to our busy schedule. Since the queue is implemented without our consent, I have been waiting for at least 1 hour for each session. I just want to finish all my sessions soon... What an unethical medical clinic! I doubt that the no queue system for new packages will sustain so if you are interested, think twice.

I am a fortunate and thankful patient of PPP because I can now look confident with my melasma under control. It was a long journey but thanks to all PPP doctors and staff who encouraged me not to give up. Looking back, my perseverance pays off! Thanks for making it affordable!

Anonymous said...

In order for it to work on my hyperpigment and melasma, I was told to have the treatment done at least 3-4 times a week ! so I did as told. I go for the session 3 times a week for 2 months and there goes 24 laser session ! so it isn't exactly cheap either.
so I went to see another doc. and was told that 1 min laser is not effective. a 15 laser is required.
hence, I concluded that, 3 times session at PPP is only 3 min of laser. while at other clinic, a laser session costs around $300 at interval of 4 weeks apart. so who is cheaper ?

Anonymous said...

The "fortunate and thankful" PPP patient ( August 3) - very good for you cos it does not work for any patients with melasma that i met and know at PPP. Perhaps you can share more information with us, provided that you are indeed a patient of PPP and not their staff or doctor :)

For lasers at other skin clinics, i was advised to only go once per month for my skin condition. But here at PPP, they tell me to go everyday (??).

I went to PPP Lucky plaza for my lasers. There was a day when i requested for the male doctor instead of the female doctor. The female doctor aka Lena/Lina, was free at the moment and sat on the edge of the empty bed behind me, while the male doc was doing my laser. Lena was talking sooo loudly and other PPP staff joined in the conversation, even eating and munching loudly behind me while i was doing my treatment. This is so unprofessional!

Also, facial times have shrunk to less than 1 minute (laser what??). Waiting time still long and even turned away. When i express my unhappiness, PPP staff talk to me so rudely and loudly. Servicw is so lousy, clean your face yourself and apply lotion yourself.

Seriously, i did not sign up for a facial package causing thousands to go through this. I would rather go back to my previous clinic if not because i had to finish my package. This is clearly a breach of what PPP promised (Appt times, nurses cleaning our faces, longer face lasers etc etc).

When i went back to my previous clinic and told my Doctor abt this, he smiled and told me that many of his ex-patients come back with the same story.

Pls dont sign up!

Hi, I am also looking for alternatives, where is this clinic u mentioned?

I am disappointed in ppp service as well, when I signed up, there is no expiry date stated in my terms and conditions and neither did the staff told me. But lately since the implementation of their IT system, I was told that my points will expire in Oct. I still have 7 sessions left! it was nvr my intention to go weekly and spend 500 per month on such sub standard laser. The staff told me the management is unable to grant me extension. When I finally managed to get hold of a copy of my terms and conditions (after many debates and arguments with the staff), I wrote to the management to ask for extension with my t&c as ssupporting document that I was not informed of the expiry. they didn't reply me.

I dread going for my treatment and you can think of the potential reasons that everyone has pointed out. I only want to complete all my sessions so that I can stop seeing the unprofessional doctors and staffs who snacked and chatted continuously. Treatment is not effective- how would it be when it's less than a minute. Move on and don't waste your time considering them.

I am writing to Singapore Medical Council to report on the unethical behavior of PPP and for shortchanging me - DIY cleaning, touch-and-go laser treatment. In short, breaching contractual services. I asked for a refund and the clinic wants to charge me admin fee for it.

I had a very bad n disappointing experience with a male doc at the HQ clinic in Paragon. I used 15pts eqv to $600 ($40 per pt) for the micro laser n cool touch treatment. The doc started the laser on my left face, went out and came back in a few mins. Continued laser on my left face and told me its done. Twice on left and nothing done on right face. Told him abt it n he did a super quick one..Result : zero result, not even a slight improvement. Oh yes, I was left with a smalll dark patch on my left cheek. Complained also no use.. I was told to sign a 4x treatments pkg (13pts $520 per treatment) to see results but no guarantee. My advise: pls do not waste your hard earned money and precious times on such unethical unprofessional doc.

When they first started at Liang Court it was ok. Good concept. But yeah it is not for everyone which they think it is.
Management to Customer Service to implementation of new policies - SUCKS BIG TIME. And I recommended 20 friends to them. They got so many complsints and eventually I suffered own fate. I paid to get humiliated I feel. I contributed to their wages to beg for an appointment. Many of my referred clients were offered to convert their package instead... my advise... shrewd businessmen this PPP is. Bloodsuckers. Anyone who has cash to burn by all means.

Im not discriminating but I can't believe they are getting doctors from Philippines these days to do the light laser. It's insulting for the price we are paying.

Trial card for 3 times use is part of PPP's Nov anniversary lucky drip for existing users.

Please note that it is complimentary and meant to be given to new users only.

I'd like to share the same sentiment to you... I have been in PPP and paid S$1,200 promo price for my sessions. After 10th I've not seen any improvement of my melasma its still the same. If there is an improvement in my skin its the work of this German beauty product I'm using but (it did not remove my melasma only lightening it 40%) I decided not to renew my PPP laser treatment to waste an hour and half waiting time and I did not see improvement. I noticed too that it seems the doctors were still in training of how to handle the laser machine. Well I hope I am wrong with my impression.

One of you guys mentioned a clinic in Taka that does offers good laser and service at approximately $250.00 per session. mind sharing which clinic? Sorry to add on here, but if you have a better option, just include the clinic or product name. Don't be a tease (LOL). Thanks ladies.

Hi , I signed a100 sessions @ $5000+ one year ago, from their appointment system to walk in system., from more personalized service to DIY.
My experience is

*Very very greatful that All my pimples (due to hormone n bad facial experience )was gone after 3-4 treatments, and hardly come back nowadsys.
*After 15 treatments my pigmentation is very much lighten and under controlled.
*I believe my pores are much improved and my skin is very radiant and smooth now that I never ever had in my passed 30 years (I'm 50+ now)
Btw , I just realized from here that my bleached eye brow (a few ) might probably due to the laser, which I thought was due to aged , haha.hope they will look into this..
Lastly , my last comment is
DR.Vicent is REALLY A BIG NO .NO.

Think carefully before you sign up with PPP, which should be PUKE PUKE PUKE!

Service staff are generally rude, impatience. Had bad skin allergic after treatments but the person who sold to me the package at Raffles city was indifferent and won't let me cancel the package and offer no assistance. They don't seem to record my treatment history. Everytime I go I have to explain to the doctors so they he or she can administer a lighter dosage. Every time I had people serving me a pill (for the itch) with their bare hands!!! Should you just touch a pill like that? So unprofessional. Ask me for IC with no smile and returned me with no thank, no eye contact. Simple greet, smile, thank - Don't expect!

Though they gave you free ML treatment which expires in 3 months, this whole month is fully booked and they offered no alternatives.
Are they certified under CaseTrust? If we are not able to book an appointment for the ML, we could lodge a complaint with case???

Dont be naive joyce. 3 times bring you to nowhere.

Reached holland v branch at 6.30 pm just now. Guess what? They already stopped issuing tix. The clinic is supposed to close at 8 pm.

WTF.

Don't be silly. Before you sign up, they are of course friendly and courteous. Wait till you sign up and you see how much respect they give you! The most, polite on the surface. Good luck. If you encounter problem, you will see how 'helpful' they will be.

Hi:

I've been going to PPP because a friend told me it was good. I actually now have worse skin, red marks, and streaks in my skin. I'm really upset about this. I don't think everyone should use this service.

Anonymous said...

I started trying PPP after my mom passed me her points to try because i have freckles since pri sch. My mom was being introduced by her friend and for my mom, she had pigmentations. Not too sure how long it took her, but i do see significant results.

I took picture before my treatment in comparison to picture after 6th treatment. My freckles have lightened and i am pleased about it. However i do agree with most people here that the customer service sucks esp at the more popular outlet.

I ever encounter a time where I asked the staff if I can make it in time before Doc goes for lunch and she said yes. However after some wait, a random lady came in with priority Q to cut my Q, and turns out that Doc has to go for lunch and I had to wait another 1 hr or so for the Doc to return. It was a total waste of my time! I seldom go back to that outlet from then on.

Anonymous said...

hmmm buy from you? my friend got the cards for free.

From my experience, I am pretty happy with PPP as I could see a different on me from a year before. My pigmentation has lighten so much, my pores have become much smaller, without make-up, I still look good. I have not encountered any very lousy customer service from PPP, I do agree that some doctors are lousy and therefore, before going down to the clinic outlet, my advice is to ring the clinic up to find out which doctor is on duty. With regards to queuing time, I do agree at times, the queue is long but PPP provides online queue query which allows you to manage your time better. If you think the queue is too long at one of the outlets, you could always divert to another one. You can go to their website to find out the queue.

My friend went for her complimentary ML and overheard the nurses saying that " No need to apply numbing cream for her la.. Free session still want to request for numbing cream huh?" As usual, they were speaking loudly and unprofessionally in their broken English, assuming that patients are deaf & dumb. She always totally disgusted- completed the short session and got away as soon as possible. She had the intention to sign up for a package before she overheard that conversation.

These complimentary sessions are tactics to get you to purchase new packages only. If you don't, they never fail to treat you like shit when you return then text time. Patients with ML packages have numbing cream applied before the session yet our complimentary sessions do not?! There is a new clinic next to their HQ in Paragon and the crowd seems overwhelming. I will be trying this new clinic from now on.

I am quite happy with PPP. 6 sessions $120. I cleanse face myself and apply mask after session and then the antibacterial cream which they dispense on square cotton wool.

guess it's budget price so budget treatment. 1 min is okay for me.

I am 46 years old with some pigment problem

I don't usually write reviews, but PPP clinic is so bad I just had to write this to warn others. My advice to all is to save your money and don't sign up for any packages from the PPP clinic! I really really really regret spending 4000+ and wish I could have my money back.
I actually have no issue with having to clean my own face before "treatment" and putting on the moisturizer after "treatment" (incidentally, the quality of the wipes that the clinic provides for your face seems to have gone downhill - much thinner and rougher than they used to be). The wait isn't too long nowadays either (I suspect because they probably don't have too many repeat customers).
However my issue is that it does not work at all - did nothing for my acne or pores (in fact, when I went to their HQ to do the micro laser treatment, the doctor administering the treatment said that the PPP laser cannot/does not treat pimples!!). The treatment itself is very short, less than 1 minute. You may get different doctors each session, so sometimes the treatment is longer and sometimes shorter, administered at different strengths (there is no consistency to the "treatment"). Since you don't get the same doctor, there is absolutely no one monitoring your progress (and it doesn't feel as though they care either, they just want you to sign up for more packages). Even when I get the same doctor (Dr Thean) it doesn't feel like he even remembers me, because he asks the same questions and I have to go through the same thing with him every time - explaining why I don't think it works for me. I also think it's ridiculous that he tells me that I should go and do the treatment every day (which I actually did for almost a month, without seeing any improvement).
Aside from the expense (if you go everyday, is this really cheaper than going to a proper doctor that can give you better treatment and consultation?), Dr Thean tells my friend (who really doesn't have any major issues with her skin) to go everyday as well!
To top it off, their customer service is horrendous. They are constantly changing the prices of their packages, terms and conditions of their packages - so you always feel like you're getting cheated. The final straw was when I had 3 sessions left on Monday and my package was expiring on Saturday. I asked on Monday whether they could extend my package. The girl said if she extended, she could only extend one week from Monday (and not Saturday) so I should come back later in the week to extend. That's already pretty ridiculous right? So I used a session on Tuesday, then on Wednesday (leaving me with 1 final session). I asked again on Wednesday whether they could extend for a week. And they told me that they couldn't because there needs to be a minimum of 3 sessions before they can extend?!!!! So I'm effectively being penalized for trying to clear my sessions. After a long argument (during which I was made to feel like I was such a drag and bother), the girl said she had to speak with management and will call me back. Not surprisingly I haven't heard from them.
I really don't understand what sort of business model this is - firstly offering a product that doesn't work and secondly treating your customers like crap.
I know what it's like to have acne and the feeling of desperation to try anything to help your skin. I can tell you PPP is not your solution, do yourself a favor and go to a real doctor who can and will monitor your progress. Or spend your 4000 on something like a nice holiday, a diamond ring etc, you'll be far better off and much happier.

Aiyo, so many people having bad experience at PPP but yet their business has expanded and survived till now!!! Can any of these complainants explain?

I went to PPP to try their $99 for 2 combo laser. After doing one, I saw that my pimples dried up for one day and after that, my forehead broke out in many small inflamed pimples !!! Fortunately I didn't sign a package with them even though they advised me to go everyday for the lite laser. Wtf!!!

PPP does not help in breakouts

Hello,

For those who likes to follow Dr Kenneth Thean, who is well-verse in laser treatments, he is now at Paragon 6th floor, with great customer service , shorter waiting time, and overall better experience there! the number of the clinic is 6836 3367.

Cheers.

No wonder PPP is getting more and more wealthy.
The big yacht pack at One Degree Marina is sponsored by all the victim above.

I have been going to PPP since they first opened. I was happy with the results at first and bought probably 3-4 packages since. The price per session got cheaper and cheaper over the years, hence I understand that the initially full service treatment became DIY one and the treatment time was reduced. However, recently I feel that the service has deteriorated tremendously and the treatment time has been reduced to ridiculously short time to the extend that I don't see the point of going for treatment anymore. The effectiveness is of course nil.

So, I agree with most comments above. I do not recommend you to sign up for PPP anymore (although I did recommend few of my friends - luckily before the service/treatment time deteriorated!).

I understand their strategy now is to push you to do what they call "Combo" in which one session is priced to be equivalent to 10 normal laser treatments. I still see the effectiveness of this Combo. So, I will just finish up my package by using up my Combo entitlement and converting my points into Combo... After this package is finished, I will not extend......

Very disappointing indeed!!

I think the effects are really not as effective as the major aesthetic clinic.
I go to Neuglow now for my face laser, even though the price is definitely higher, but I can see results.
I don't have to go and camp at PPP everyday. so much hassle and waste of time.

There are from bad to worst.. I don't see result even thought went thru so many sessions.. Now closing so many outlets. Expect their customers to travel hours to get a min treatment on regular basis as the doctor recommended..

Bedok outlet will have no doctor from Jan 16 onwards, which mean that all customers in the east will congregate at Marine Parade outlet.. Longer q and more waiting time to have 1 min treatment! What a waste of time and money! I signed up the package is because I work in Bedok and is convenient and now they are closing the Bedok outlet. I regretted signing up with PPP.. Is there anywhere the disappointed customers could raise their concern?

Anonymous said...

This is a scam. PPP is closing many outlets. With so few outlets, short operating hours, Long doc's break, avg Q time of 2/3 hours, how can they expect working adults to complete sessions within a year?

Unknown said...

Please could you let me know if the service was 100% customer and time focused would you still use this service?

MissSolitaire said...

Traceylee, if it were 3 years ago when they just started, i would say yes.. That's why I recommended so many friends to try PPP. However, now it is a big NO. Please stay away. The normal LLC takes around 1 min max.. after 1+ hour wait minimum. The combo is slightly better but the treatment time is also reduced.. The effectiveness is NIL for LLC, slightly better for combo but deteriorates due to insufficient treatment time...

I have just signed up an infinite package 3 months ago due to the location which is convenient to me.
But there is closure of the yishun branch without any notice at all and we can't ask for the refund and the nearest clinic is at bishan whereby minimum 3-4 hours queue for a pathetic 1 min laser.
Gosh. ..
This is really a disappointment and felt cheated. ....

I am also one of many who felt cheated. PPP used to have information on their website on their operational hours. In the past couple of months such information were not available on their website. You have to go there physically to know when the queue starts or stops. Many times after making the trips there, I found the clinic closed. No prior notice was given. About two weeks ago, I managed to get the 1 minute treatment after waiting in queue for over 2 hours.

What also upset me was that there was a priority line (much shorter queue) for those who accepted PPP deducting two points, double the usual one point for the one-minute laser treatment. This is adding insults to injury.

I got a friend who works there says new management are the worst. They claim to open clinics but instead lie and close, say going to keep staff but fire a lot. All these signs show that Ppp gonna die, better ask people stop gng! New management are a disgrace to customers everywhere!

Anonymous said...

I heard the new management don't know how to give laser treatment as well! Omg how dangerous is it for customers!

Anonymous said...

I absolutely agree. As an ex-manager of PPP I have seen how the company has degraded ever since the saga. The new director Nelson and Terence Loh are the worst possible people on earth to work with. They took over the company and told consumers the packages will be honored but up till now it hasn't. They came in telling everyone that PPP will be successful again but instead they are liquidating the funds in preparation to go back China to continue with their "not so legal" activities. I heard from a reliable source they are currently in debt and financially challenged. It seems that these new directors have no credibility at all. I warn all those who are going to have some of business with them in the future to be cautious and reconsider. They really are downright liars who have no sense of ethics at all.

I have just signed up for this new treatment that PPP is offering called P+ treatment. 30 sessions at $988, I can see that my pimples have dried up alot after doing it for a month visiting twice a week. Apparently i did not have to Q so long as the staffs told me that it is a different Q compared to the ones most people are doing. During the initial 2 weeks, i do have small breakouts coming out but i believe that it is because of the clogs that are hidden inside/under my skin surface. I am actually really satisfied with the treatment and am planning to sign up another package!

why not the existing patients try the new P+ treatment that they are offering?

bebe said...

as a consumer's opinion, i have been doing their treatment since 2013 bought 4-5 pkgs already. It was indeed better back in those days and it degraded once they started pushing the infinity pkgs! my skin stopped showing improvement when the treatment dosage is so mild and i have to end up coming in more frequently for it! waste of my time. So I ended up burning my points to do Priority lane as time is precious and i am a working adult.

But I do hope the new management change the concept to back when it started out or come up with GOOD idea to improve the services and treatment procedures! It is ok to give them a second chance, just dont ruin it.

Anonymous said...

It is not a correct way to puswade current customers to change existing plan by topping up money. Machine didn't change, just change recipe(power and frequency). Definitely this is not a loyal action supported by most old customers. If the P+ treatment customer accumulates, the waiting time for queue is as long as nowadays. P+ result is like combo just launched, PPP new business plan is less customer but higher profit.

Anonymous said...

Totally agree that this practice is not ethical esp it is operated by doctors. Why isnt medical council stepping in?
We feel so cheated, clinics hour is so short and Q is so long. Who is so free to wait 2-3 hrs for a 1 min session? some c
Some open for 1 -2 hrs a day. Ridiculous. Yet the girls are still pushing people to sign up. Consumers pl wake up.

Anonymous said...

I feel so cheated. Less clinics and hours are too short. We are working adults. How to go after work?During weekend, more outlets are closed and Q can be as long as 3 hours for a one minute treatment. When i asked for refund, PPP said no way.

Hi i had went to PPP clinic to clear my pimple marks and had done laser treatments to my entire face. Dr Kenneth was the one doing it for most of my visits which were about 7 times. He had used laser with high level which had burnt inside my skin as i had very bad burning sensation. After the last scetion i had black patches appearing on my face which i told the doctor for which he told i have to go for more laser treatments. I did on end of 2013 and had been suffering with the black patches till today which have faded only a bit. Anybody else who had this experience?

Referring to comment from "April 4, 2018 at 8:55 PM", I wish I'd seen this blog earlier, I signed up a package of 6 sessions for $2140 at Ensoul with Kenneth Thean, he is the medical director there, this clinic opened in 2018 it seemed. It gives the impression of running the treatments like a conveybelt service, now that I read this blog, it confirmed my earlier thought. Last month, I told him after 2 sessions of laser treatment on pigmentation, the skin didn't flake, and the pigmentation got darker. He said he would make it stronger the 3rd time to let the skin flake. It burned my right cheek, it felt hot after treatment, 8 spots appeared on my face, 4 of which on the cheek area which had no pigmentation, meaning now I have additional 4 new brown spots to my existing pigmentation patch. The spots appeared 3 days after treament, and after using Cyspera that Dr K Thean pushed me to use. The spots looked like blisters, which Dr Thean said it was some "dirt" that was expelled from my body...?!? from a medical personnel, kind of a surprise to hear that, commented like a snake oil vendor. Stopped treatment and Cyspera for 2 weeks, spots got lightened, when I re-applied Cyspera, the spots flared up again, it seemed that the damage had been done to the skin underneath. After 4 treatments in 6 weeks, my pigmentation is back to square one, nothing changed. Though some areas got lightened after 4th session at week 4, now week 6, the pigment marks have returned.
