Unforgetable Phuket

I had this Phuket trip planned as early as May, then many unfortunate things cropped up along the way. My mom had to have surgery to have her breast removed, I had my fair share of surgery recently too. But we were persistent and carried on with our plan to have this short but beautiful getaway.

I shall just let the pictures do the talking...

We were staying in this huge 2-bedroom pool villa at Marriott Vacation Club, Mai Khao beach.

The kids wasted no time to hit the pool.

My mom couldn't swim but she had a good time chilling by the pool.

Day 2 - We took the hotel buggy and headed for Mai Khao beach. It was refreshing to see a deserted beach in Phuket, a stark contrast to Phuket's other beach like Patong.

Because we were staying in Mai Khao, which was like miles away from the town area, we rented a car with GPS. It was a real good idea because the taxi here is practically day-light robbery!

We were heading to this place called Laem Hin Seafood for dinner. It's a floating restaurant with very nice view but lots of mosquitoes!

Day 3 - We drove the long winding road to Kata Viewpoint where we could see Kata beach and Karon beach.

Then we stopped by an elephant camp where we took a 30-minutes elephant rides into the woods which was a big hit with my two kids. They absolutely love it.

Day 4 - We checked out of Marriott Vacation Club and checked into JW Mariott nearby for a few hours because our flight was in the evening and the check-out time for MVC was 10 in the morning.

Then the kids and their Daddy went swimming again.

With this last picture of Leonitus, all wrapped up, our trip was also coming to an end. It was my first time in 35 years, travelling with my mom - it was unforgettable.

More pictures of the trip here.
